The second of the 2209 A/B Science and Mathematics Student Workshop, which aims to bring undergraduate student projects in science, mathematics and related fields supported and completed or ongoing within the scope of TUBITAK 2209-A and 2209-A University Students Research Projects, was hosted by Yıldız Technical University. Istanbul Gelisim University participated in the workshop, which brought together young researchers from all over Turkey, with 9 different projects and realized a remarkable representation.
From Intelligent Systems to Energy Efficiency
Among the projects offered under the consultancy of Lect. İzzet Yavuz, innovative solutions for agricultural technologies and human health came to the fore.The project titled "Artificial Intelligence Supported Smart Greenhouse: Automatic Fertilization, Irrigation and Soil Processing System" is owned by İrem Türkyılmaz, Diyaddin Temel, Bülent Efe Keleş and İsmail Gündoğan. This system aims to optimize agricultural productivity with artificial intelligence.
Another team led by the same consultant proposed a technological solution to the health problems caused by prolonged sitting with the project titled "Pressure-Based Sensing and Feedback of Sitting Disorders and Web-Based Data Analysis". Özlem Aşçi, Muhammet Emin Şahin, Cahit Taran and Harun Sefa Haydari took part in the project.
Emirhan Bakırlı, on the other hand, made an important contribution to the field of renewable energy with the "Solar Powered Portable Mini Cooling System" he developed.
Unique Approaches in Packaging, Food and Materials Science
The project "Investigation of the Usability of Paper Packaging Coated with Biopolymeric Film Containing Natural Antibacterial Agents", carried out under the consultancy of Fatma Ebru Koç, focused on environmentally friendly packaging alternatives. The study developed by Zehra Bahar Yücel and Rabia Doğan together offers innovative solutions in the field of sustainable packaging.Under the project led by Asst. Prof. Negin Azarabadi, students Halis Şimşeker and Alp Eren Deliyusuf, who took part in the "Local and Functional Disaster Food Production" developed food solutions for disaster conditions.
The other project managed by the same consultant, "Functional Product Production from Flower Petals", focused on the evaluation of biological resources. Sudenaz Sayar and Pınar Damla Apaydın took part in this project.
