Aim of the Program
The goal is to train technicians who are knowledgeable about all procedures before, during, and after autopsies, possess the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the required procedures, and are familiar with the quality control and assurance of autopsy units. After graduation, these technicians will work alongside forensic medicine specialists in forensic medicine institutions and autopsy units of hospitals, providing auxiliary personnel capable of performing post-autopsy procedures on corpses and tissues in the best possible way. The aim is to train forensic medical technicians who:
1. Can preserve samples taken from the deceased, deliver them to the relevant laboratory, or send them;
2. Can transfer the deceased after the autopsy and prepare surgical instruments and materials for use for the next case;
3. Know the legal regulations related to autopsies;
4. Can make all preparations in the autopsy room before the autopsy;
5. Have the ability to access, evaluate, and apply scientific information related to their field.

The aim is to train qualified auxiliary healthcare personnel who possess the professional knowledge, skills, and ethical standards to participate in forensic medicine and autopsy processes.
Mission: To provide scientifically based education to our students who will be involved in autopsy processes in the fields of forensic medicine and pathology, to instill a sense of ethical and legal responsibility, and to train qualified autopsy auxiliary health personnel who are proficient in occupational health and safety rules, possess strong technical skills, have effective communication skills, and can use modern technologies. The program aims to train professionals who contribute to public health, the justice system, and scientific research.

It is common to encounter dozens of cases where forensic cases take place evert day and most of them require autopsy. Qualified and tranied personnel work against this workload in the autopsy units affiliated to Forensic Medicine Institue. There is always a need for autopsy assistantship who work in various places such as writing forensic case reports, performing autopsies and making necessary preparations before and after the autopsy.

It is possible for graduates to find a job immediately because there is a great need for qualified personnel in our country. Graduates of this program, completing all the professional practices and internships in the program will graduate with the title of Forensic Medicine Technician. After graduation, our students will be able to take part in Forensic Medicine Departments, Forensic Medicine Institutes, Forensic Medicine Institution and related Group Presidencies, Branch Directorates and Courthouses as autopsy assistants.
Programmes allowing Horizontal Transfer
Students are admitted to the undergraduate and undergraduate programs in accordance with the Ilişkin Regulation on the Transfer Between Associate and Bachelor's Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Credit Transfer Between Institutions yatay.
Programmes allowing Vertical Transfer
Autopsy technician graduates can transfer vertically to the four-year Nursing, Health Management, Social Work, Emergency Aid and Disaster Management departments if they pass the DGS exam.
