OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to teach fundamental statistical methods used in the healthcare field and to develop students' skills in analyzing, interpreting, and reporting health data.
Contents of the Course Unit: This course covers the definition and importance of statistics, fundamental concepts and data types, statistical series and graphs, parametric and non-parametric measures of central tendency and variability, statistical estimation and hypothesis testing, indices, sampling, discrete random variables and their distributions, time series, statistical methods specific to the health field, and statistical reporting in healthcare.

Can explain the basic concepts of statistics.
Can analyze health data using appropriate statistical methods.
Can illustrate statistical data with the help of graphs.
Can interpret basic statistical measurements.
Can explain the logic of statistical estimation and hypothesis testing.
Can prepare statistical reports for the health field.
