| Objectives of the Course Unit: | It is aimed to gain knowledge regarding the structures that constitute the cell, their functions, genetic material, and related diseases. |
| Contents of the Course Unit: | The curriculum includes topics such as Introduction to Genetics, DNA, RNA, Protein Synthesis, Mutations, DNA Repair Mechanisms, Molecular Genetics and Diseases, Disease Diagnostic Methods, Cancer and its Mechanisms, Single Gene Diseases, Chromosomal Diseases, Multifactorial Diseases, Prenatal diagnostic methods (non-invasive), Prenatal diagnostic methods (invasive), Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis, Hereditary metabolic diseases of newborns, and Genetic Counseling. |
