Aim of the Program

Program educational objective

The general objective of the Physiotherapy Program is to train qualified healthcare technicians who possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to support physiotherapists during assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation processes in modern physiotherapy clinics and rehabilitation centers.

 

  1. To educate graduates with sufficient theoretical knowledge of fundamental physiotherapy concepts, clinical assessment principles, movement sciences, and rehabilitation technologies.
  2. To equip students with technical skills enabling the accurate, safe, and standards-based performance of practical physiotherapy procedures such as therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy methods, hot–cold applications, manual therapy support techniques, and the use of physiotherapy devices.
  3. To train responsible and professional graduates who develop working habits aligned with ethical principles, patient safety, quality control processes, and clinical safety standards.
  4. To cultivate competent individuals who adapt to teamwork, possess strong communication skills, are open to professional development, and follow current physiotherapy practices and technological advancements in rehabilitation.

The mission of the Physiotherapy Program is to provide science-based education to train qualified technical personnel who will take part in physiotherapy and rehabilitation processes, to enhance students’ professional knowledge and skills, and to educate responsible professionals who are committed to ethical values and competent in patient safety and quality standards. The program aims to contribute to the quality of healthcare services by training individuals who follow modern physiotherapy and rehabilitation technologies and adopt lifelong learning.

Students who will graduate from this program have the opportunity to work in all public and private health institutions that have Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation departments, and they can provide necessary professional physical therapy services to all age groups, from newborns to adults and the elderly, under the supervision of doctors and physiotherapists. They can work in  rehabilitation centers, spa-cure centers, private clinics, sports clubs, nursing homes and hydrotherapy units in hotels for health tourism.

Future of the Department

Increase in life expectancy and aging population cause health areas to come to the fore. In addition, as a result of the digitalization of the world, inactivity becomes a problem that affects the lives of all people and causes various physical problems and diseases. Physiotherapy, which includes treatments aimed at restoring functionality that has decreased due to various orthopedic and neurological diseases, injury, trauma or old age, can be counted among the professions of the future.

Working Places

Individuals graduated from physiotherapy department can work in universities, physical therapy departments of public and private hospitals, Ministry of Health, Social Insurance Institution, city municipality and research hospitals, rehabilitation centers, private clinics, gyms, spa-cure centers, sports clubs, nursing homes, hydrotherapy units of hotels for health tourism.

Programmes allowing Horizontal Transfer

They can transfer to departments that accept students with TYT score type.

Programmes allowing Vertical Transfer

Students who graduate from the program can transfer to Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Emergency and Disaster Management and Health Management undergraduate programs by vertical transfer.
