OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

| Objectives of the Course Unit: | The aim of this course is to provide the students with a sociological point of view and to make them understand the relationship between sociology and old age. |
| Contents of the Course Unit: | The emergence of the science of sociology, pioneers, object, relationship with other sciences in addition to the relationship between sociology and gerontology; basic sociological concepts; social transformation in the historical process and the place of old age in this transformation; development-underdevelopment theories and issues of aging in place in Turkey and in the world is located |
